May 15, 2010 Comcast Partners with GAC to Nationally Promote “Music City Keep on Playin’ – A Benefit for Flood Relief”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 15, 2010) -- Comcast, one of the nation's leading providers of entertainment, information and communication products and services, is generously partnering with Great American Country Television (GAC) to nationally promote Music City Keep on Playin’ – A Benefit for Flood Relief, the first nationally televised live concert event and telethon airing commercial-free Sunday, May 16, 2010, 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (EST) on GAC. All proceeds raised will go to those hard hit by the recent Middle Tennessee floods. Comcast, Comcast Spotlight, Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) and E! Entertainment Television are providing a nationwide robust schedule of free airtime of public service announcements for GAC's benefit event. Additionally, in-kind event banner ads are posted on www.comcast.net, www.eonline.com, www.css-sports.com allowing visitors to click-through to make online donations, and banner ads will remain posted in the days following the telethon allowing for additional contributions. Comcast will also provide digital cable customers access to GAC's benefit event On Demand for one week following Sunday’s live airing.
“Comcast has more than 1200 local employees – we are essentially serving our neighbors and Comcast is committed to investing in the communities where we operate each day,” said John Gauder, market vice president for Comcast of Middle Tennessee. “We hope our partnership with GAC will bring in needed donations that will assist our Middle Tennessee neighbors during this recovery period.”
Artists scheduled to appear on Music City Keep on Playin’ – A Benefit for Flood Relief include Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Rodney Atkins, Keb’ Mo’, Kellie Pickler, CeCe Winans, Jaci Velasquez, Randy Montana and Will Hoge. Hosts James Denton (“Desperate Housewives”) and movie/TV star Kimberly Williams Paisley will be joined by on-air personalities from GAC, Food Network and The Travel Channel.
The event is being organized by GAC, Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau and Gaylord Entertainment.
