Travel Channel Names Award-Winning Executive Patalia Tate SVP of Marketing, Creative and Brand Strategy

 

 

 

 

CHEVY CHASE, Md. Her leadership will help us contemporize the look, feel and voice of the network, and make us more relevant in the category and more meaningful with consumers.”

In this position, Tate will oversee all on-air and off-air creative including series and brand campaigns, print design, packaging for brand extensions, and overall creative brand strategy.  She will manage a team comprised of strategy, design, creative, production and planning leads, as well as writers/producers, on-air graphic designers, print designers, production coordinators and assistants.

Tate joins Travel Channel from Food Network, where she served as vice president of brand creative.  In that capacity, she oversaw all brand creative strategies for the network, as well as the creative packaging and strategy for the launch of Scripps Networks’ latest lifestyle offering, Cooking Channel. Scripps Networks is the majority owner and manager of both Travel Channel and Food Network, and also owns Cooking Channel, which launched in May.

Prior to joining Food Network, Tate worked at A&E Television Networks (AETN), where she was director, marketing and strategy, for the company’s three fastest-growing network brands:  History International; History Channel en espanol; and Military History Channel.   Additionally, she was director, on-air promotion at History Channel; managing producer at A&E Network; writer/producer for the PBS affiliate in Dallas, TX, KERA-TV; and the CBS affiliate in Houston, TX (KHOU-TV); as well as various positions in promotions at radio stations in Houston, TX and Memphis, TN.

Tate is a member of various industry organizations including, Professional Organization for Marketing & Advertising Executives (PROMAX); Cable Television Association for Marketers (CTAM); the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communication (NAMIC); and Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). She has received numerous industry awards for creativity including the CTAM Mark Gold & Silver Award, Promax’s Gold Award, BDA’s Gold Award, a New York Film Festival Award and a London International Advertising Award.
