A happy, “speechless” and “surprised” Sandra Gilson learned she was the winner of the HGTV Green Home Giveaway 2010 when HGTV’s Jamie Durie knocked on the door of her home in Scotia, New York.  Her grand prize package, valued at almost $800,000, includes an eco-friendly, single-family home located in Plymouth, Massachusetts, a 2010 GMC Terrain and $100,000.  Gilson’s excitement at receiving the news was televised on the HGTV Green Home Giveaway 2010 special on Monday, June 28, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Chad Youngblood will assume new duties as senior vice president of home category initiatives for Scripps Networks effective June 1. In this new position, Youngblood will work on assignments that cut across the various platforms and brands in the home category encompassing HGTV, DIY Network and associated websites.

HGTV has signed Heather Armstrong of dooce.com, recognized as America's most popular "mommyblogger," to an exclusive programming development deal in which she will work with HGTV's online and on-air production teams to create innovative convergence programming for the network.
