Scripps Networks Names Chad Youngblood SVP Home Category Initiatives

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 29, 2010) – Chad Youngblood will assume new duties as senior vice president of home category initiatives for Scripps Networks effective June 1. In this new position, Youngblood will work on assignments that cut across the various platforms and brands in the home category encompassing HGTV, DIY Network and associated websites.Chad Youngblood, SVP, Home Category Initiatives, Scripps Networks

 
“Chad will put his energy and insight to work on helping expand Scripps Networks’ dominance in the home category, an area that we believe has tremendous long-term growth potential,” said Burton Jablin, president of the home category. 
 
Youngblood currently serves as general manager of Fine Living Network, which will be re-branded as Cooking Channel on May 31. He joined Scripps Networks in 2000 as a writer/producer for HGTV. He has also served as vice president of on-air promotion for HGTV. In 2004, he played a critical role on the team responsible for refreshing HGTV’s on-air image and evolving the brand identity into a more engaging and entertaining lifestyle network.
 
Youngblood has been nationally recognized for his branding work with peer awards from Promax/BDA, CTAM, NAMIC and other organizations.
 
Youngblood came to Scripps Networks after serving as writer/producer for KGO-TV in San Francisco, and spending 10 years in local market television in Reno, Nev. and San Jose, Calif.
